The Bridging Knowledge to Care Conference is a three-day event that will bring together youth,
families, clinicians, researchers, and community partners to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and
strengthen access to culturally responsive substance use supports for Black youth. By exploring its
intersections with education, mental health, the justice system, and employment, the conference aims
to reduce stigma, build community capacity, and strengthen coordinated responses that support the
well-being and long-term success of Black youth.
Joy will participate as a speaker and presenter highlighting steelpan’s rich history and it’s relevance today as a culturally and socially responsive artform.
